Teaching Through Drama

This is a very useful strategy for teachers, and more for us, who are future teachers. There are differents games by which you can help students with their learning and at the same time have a pleasant and interactive time.

Here they are some, like:

  • Improvisation
  • Role Play
  • Costume
  • Props
  • Freeze Frame
  • Puppets
  • Slow Motion
  • Thought Tracking
  • Sound Tracking
  • Paired Conversation
  • Magic Carpet
  • Mirroring
  • Miming
  • Hot Seating
  • Modelling
  • Role on the Wall
  • Conscience Alley
  • Performance
After reviewing each one in a deeper way, the teacher distributed eight of these games in eight different groups, which are in charge of making an exhibition on x theme using the game that corresponded to him.

I'm with Cristian and Nicolas, and we correspond to Role on the wall, wish luck!. :D

10 Reasons to Implement Technology in the Classroom

1) If used correctly, will help prepare students for their future careers, which will inevitably include the use of wireless technology.
2) Integrating technology into the classroom is definitely a great way to reach diversity in learning styles.
3) It gives students the chance to interact with their classmates more by encouraging collaboration.
4) Technology helps the teachers prepare students for the real world environment. As our nation becomes increasingly more technology-dependent, it becomes even more necessary that to be successful citizens, students must learn to be tech-savvy.
5) Integrating technology in education everyday helps students stay engaged. Today’s students love technology so they are sure to be interested in learning if they can use the tools they love.
6) With technology, the classroom is a happier place. Students are excited about being able to use technology and therefore are more apt to learn.
7) When mobile technology is readily available in the classroom, students are able to access the most up-to-date information quicker and easier than ever before.
8) The traditional passive learning mold is broken. With technology in the classroom the teacher becomes the encourager, adviser, and coach.
9) Students become more responsible. Technology helps students take more control over their own learning. They learn how to make their own decisions and actually think for themselves.
10) Student can have access to digital textbooks that are constantly updated and often more vivid, helpful, creative, and a lot cheaper than those old heavy books.
If your school is still debating using the latest technology, I hate to break it to you, but it’s the inevitable future of education anyways. It is important that school wireless networks keep up with the ever changing technology in order to keep up with our students. From the ease of communicating with their teachers via e-mail, to quickly accessing an overabundance of information online about a particular topic they have learned about in class, technology is needed in today's classroom.

Web 2.0 / Create your own blog

WEB 2.0

The last thursday's topic was Web 2.0 and the professor shows to the class a creative, dinamic and funny video about.

Web 2.0 includes websites that facilitate the sharing of information with user-centered design in an interactive, participatory and dynamic manner with collaboration on the World Wide Web.

This is the new generation of the internet, and all these sites use collective intelligence to provide interactive services on the network where the user has control to publish their data and share it with others, so, it's a very useful tool for us, the students, because we can use it to development our autonomous learning

Create your own blog

Then in class the professor introduce us to Blogger, and we have to create a new g-mail account and the a blog about our process of autonomous learning and here i am :D

i hope that this blog be helpful for the readers and you can use for development your own autonomous learning.

Learning Styles

The theme of last tuesday's class was Learning Styles

Learning styles refers to the preferential way in which student absorbs, processes, comprehends and retains information. Individual learning styles depend on cognitive, emotional and environmental factors, such as the experience of each individual.

It's important understand the differences in learning styles, to implement best practice strategies into the daily activities.

Likewise exist three tipes of learning styles:

1. Visual: Use images, maps and graphics to access and understand new information.

2. Auditory: Use music, sound and rhythms to access and understand new information.

3. Kinesthetic: Use body, hands and sense of touch to access and understand new information.

Then the professor give us a test to discovering our own learning style and my results were:

Visual: (9) points = Less frequently used modality.

Auditory: (14) points = Preferred learning style.
Kinesthetic: (13) points = Frequently used modality.

Now that i know which is my learning style, i'm going to start to implement new strategies for my learning.

That's all for the entry. :3
